Masters of the Universe jumpstarted the glorious decade that was the 1980s for kids. In 1981, the Mattel toyline debuted. By 1989 kids were playing with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Playmates and the new Game Boy by Nintendo, along with its home console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This decade was the decade of my birth, and God blessed me with two parents that gave me a great childhood. Part of that childhood, a tremendously part was collecting the toys of the shows we watched. My niece tells me my generation was brainwashed, (lol) perhaps we were, in the same sense my parents' generation was brainwashed to believe Cadillac was THE best car to have and you are SOMEBODY with it (hint: We are GREAT with or without it). My niece is first generation SpongeBob viewer by the way. (lol) I lost the majority of everything I collected throughout my childhood and my early 30s when I lost my storage in 2017. Whoever got that storage got a King's Ransom. It hurts to think...

Here with another post talking about something near and dear to me....Masters of the Universe. I have been a fan of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe as long as I have been alive. My most fondest Christmas was the Christmas of 1985 when I got the Fright Zone and of the characters from The Evil Horde. My collection of He-Man toys was pretty great. Sadly I lost all of my toys when they were left in a storage bin I couldn't afford to keep and it was auctioned off in 2017. Definitely the second biggest heartbreak of my life.  The MotU franchise has definitely stood the test of time and here we now, 40 years after the first toys came out via Mattel back in 1981...we are gearing up for the July 23rd Netflix premiere of Masters of the Universe: Revelations .
