Happy Father's Day, 2021. I am so appreciative to the Most High for blessing me with a man who has been there for me my ENTIRE life as write this blog. A man who chose to be there for, wanted to be there for me and needed to be there for me. My dad, who I love. My dad, who with my late mom, conceived and brought me into this world. I have witness the ups and downs, highs and lows and triumphs in my dad's life. He's worked hard and continues to work hard to this day. I try my best to show him and tell him that everything he do is worth it. I wish he and my mom had more kids, as of now I haven't became a father yet, so the future of both families combine is still within me. Through marriage, love and bonding, he is a grandfather, a great-grandfather. That legacy stands strong. Juneteenth 2021 was a great day. Not for the fact that it is now a federal holiday, but because we as Tha GOAT Nation celebrated having 1,408 citizens on YouTube. It will be a awhile until we reach that here on this platform, but I am ready for the challenge. I was joined by my good friend Lady Capricorn Tarot, a New York based intuitive tarot reader. Nearly a decade ago, in late 2011, I met the woman who would become C. Sam Read, children's book author. We met through a mutual friend, he told me about her via Facebook. She wanted me to bring to life her idea for a children's book. This children's book would be the first I would illustrate. We collaborated on the first two books of the Patches series. We began in late 2012. At the time I started working on the series, everything was as it should be....and then, the darkest day ever occured. November 6, 2012. As I type, it has now been 3,146 days since my mom died. After that, it took a good while to get back into wanting to do anything. Thinking back on that period, I honestly can't believe I didn't go off like a nuke.
